Mon, 04/08/2008 - 2:26pm Chainu Patel jailed for his faith in Christ

We arranged a fasting prayer with some believers in a believer's house from 3rd to 5th Oct 2007. At 11:30am on 5th even as the meeting was going on, some of the people living nearby, belonging to the Gondwana Samaj [community] came to our meeting place and asked us to stop the meeting. They were using abusive and vulgar language. Then they started forcing us to eat coconut and some eatables sweet called prasad which were offered to Idols. We refused, which made them angry. They took us to Keskal Police station and filed a false case against us, under section 295/34. We were taken to Jagdalpur central jail and myself and one of our believer brother Shagundas were put behind bars. The next day, ie. 6th we conducted a prayer meeting inside the jail and I preached the Gospel to the prisoners. They like it and asked me to continue. So I uses to conduct 2 hours of worship service on every Sunday and Friday.
We had 3 Sundays in the jail, and around 25 to 30 people used to attend the prayer meeting.
Both Shagundas and I were happy in the Lord but we were missing our family too. In all, we were in jail for 18 days.
May the Good Lord bless GCIC for its continual work and help for the persecuted Church in India. But took some time for the orders to reach Jagdalpur from Keskal - finally on 24th October at around 11:00 am we were bailed out. The Lord spoke to me in the jail from the Bible Mark 13: 9-13. We were assured by reading it that we were suffering for the Lord and because we were in the jail we could share the Love of Christ with so many people in the jail. Praise the Lord...

Fri, 04/07/2008 - 3:50pm Pastor Freddy and his father brutally beaten up in Kodlipet, Karnataka

This is Pastor Freddy of IPC Church from Kodlipet, Kushal Nagar, Coorg district. On Sunday the 30th September 2007 during worship service a group of 75 Hindu radicals entered the meeting locked them inside. They started beating us with rod pipes. Myself, my father Cherian who is 72 years along with pastor Benny were beaten up badly by rod pipes. Pastor Benny’s hand was fractured and my father sustained serious head injures.

Fri, 04/07/2008 - 3:48pm Pushpanjali Jani tortured for her faith in Christ by her own husbad in Orissa

My name is Puspanjali Jani residing at Chingadaguda, P S Dasmantapur, Koraput Dist of Orissa I married to my husband Bhubana Jani who is a Hindu fanatic and RSS activist and practices various Hindu rituals. In year 2005 I accepted Jesus as my Lord and saviour. When my husband came to know about this, he along with his parents started to torture me. They forced me to give up my faith and follow their rituals and chant mantras, but I was strong in my faith. In one occasion I was severely beaten up by my father in law, mother in law and husband in the midst of the village even then I did not loose faith. Finally my husband and his parents said leave Jesus and stay in the house or leave the house and stay with Jesus. I was firm in my decision no matter what the price I had to pay. My husband became furious and threw me out of the house along with my girl child.

Now I am staying with my two children. I work for daily wages for our livelihood.

I am Subhash Chandra Digal residence of Budrukia village 5 km from Baliguda, Kandhamal, Orissa. On 25th December 2007 my house was burnt to ashes by the radical Hindu. My family and I were taking shelter in forest for 3 days without any food. My children’s school uniforms were burnt. By the grace of God we are alive.

Fri, 04/07/2008 - 3:07pm Ganda Digal cruely attacked in Barakhama, Orissa

This is Ganda Digal who was repeatedly attacked with sharpened knifes twice on his neck and over 16 times on his chest and shoulder. He was attacked on 26th Dec 2007 during Christmas attack in Barakhama, Orissa. He was profusely bleeding for 2 hours. He was taken to the Barakhama Government Hospital for treatment. The doctor for formality did first aid and said that there is no possibility to save him. Doctor said that God only has to save him and later he was taken to the Medical College.

But now he is alive before you all to say that God has saved him from all these troubles.
